. Studies with rats show that your body really does know the
difference between sugar and high-fructose corn syrup.
When a serious heart problem caused Don Gazzaniga to give up his
career in communications, he was warned to keep to a diet with very
little salt or other sodium. Undaunted, he discovered a way to
continue enjoying the meals he loved and still keep his sodium
level far below what most cardiologists feel they can expect from
their patients.
The idea has led to three published books found on the kitchen
shelves of thousands of grateful families dealing with congestive
heart failure. First came a large general cookbook. It was followed
by a baking book, and then a book of recipes for light meals and
snacks. What could be next?
Before Don's illness, he and his wife, Maureen, traveled a lot.
Don's job took him all over the globe. And wherever they went, they
sought out that country's traditional dishes. When the light-meals
book was finished, Don was looking for yet another low- sodium
cookbook idea. He and Maureen pulled out their collection of
recipes, did their magic of making them very low on sodium, and
voila! A delicious and healthy treat for the entire family.
Professor Arnold Ehret was a German philosopher, nutritionist,
teacher, healer, and visionary, and one of the first people to
advocate fasting and raw vegan diets as therapies for healing. For
years, his works and teachings have been based on the theory that
health, happiness, and longevity can only be found by living in
complete harmony with the laws of nature.
""What we have learned from Margaret about the impact of food

two young sons and our entire family. Every parent would benefit

Does your child have chronic health problems, such as
stomachaches, constipation, diarrhea, repeated infections,
excessive fatigue, bed wetting, or asthma, that are making life
challenging for both your child and your family?
Is your child's behavior making it difficult for them to develop
friendships at school or making them feel isolated and alone?
Are learning difficulties or disabilities resulting in your
child falling behind at school and feeling "stupid"?
"COULD IT REALLY BE SOMETHING THEY ATE?" offers practical advice
and support to identify the often hidden trigger food that can be
the cause of health, behavior, and learning challenges in children.
Once the trigger food is identified, Margaret leads parents through
an organized and practical approach to ensure their success and
offers a wealth of information on how to implement diet change in
the midst of a busy and often overwhelming family life.

**AS SEEN ON CHANNEL 4** Is it possible to eat well, most of the
time, and get slimmer and healthier as you do it? With The Fast
Diet it is. Dr Mosley's Fast Diet has become the health phenomenon
of our times. And for good reason. This radical approach to weight
loss really is as simple as it sounds. You eat normally for five
days a week, then for just two days you cut your calorie intake
(600 for men, 500 for women). In this fully revised edition,
Michael Mosley introduces the science behind the diet, with
exciting new research into the wider health benefits of
intermittent fasting including studies on asthma, eczema and
diabetes. Mimi Spencer, award-winning food and fashion writer, then
explains how to incorporate fasting into your daily life, with a
wealth of new detail on the psychology of successful dieting. She
presents a range of enticing new recipes, along with an easy Fast
Diet shopping list and a user-friendly calorie counter to help you
sail through your Fast Days. Whether you're a committed faster or a
new recruit to the Fast Diet, this revised edition is a must.
In the UK in 2012 an estimated 60,000 people had their gallbladder
removed because of gallstones and over 2010-2012 the figure for
Ireland was nearly 20,000. This number has been increasing year on
year into a virtual epidemic, almost certainly related to
contemporary high sugar/fructose diets. But it is fats that bring
on gallstone symptoms - `gallbladder colic', said to be one of the
most acutely painful experiences we can have. While seeking
treatment for gallstones, the only way to avoid this pain is to
follow a no-fat or very low-fat diet so that the gallbladder is not
stimulated into action. But how to change the habits of a life
time? Juliet Sullivan has been on that journey and shares what she
has learned along the way (now in an expanded second edition),
including what worked for her and the recipes she developed that
saw her through to surgery and beyond. With star ratings for fat
levels, her guidance is quick and easy to follow and provides
low-fat alternatives of family favourites - from a roast dinner to
spag bol - so sufferers can eat with family and friends and not
feel excluded on account of their medical problem. As many
reviewers have said, this book is like getting advice from a close
friend with whom you have a shared experience.
A wheat free diet is defined simply as a diet free from wheat or
products made of wheat. This diet is based principally on the fact
that wheat is a primary allergen and that it can cause allergies
like celiac disease which is why the most basic principle of this
diet is the avoidance of wheat in the diet or any products that
contain wheat such as cakes, bread, etc. The wheat free diet is
mostly applied by those who are on a gluten-free diet because wheat
is known as food that contains gluten. Gluten is a component found
in wheat and other grains that is known to cause many disorders
including the celiac disease. This is why all who are on a
gluten-free diet are most likely on a wheat-free diet as well.
