When a serious heart problem caused Don Gazzaniga to give up his
career in communications, he was warned to keep to a diet with very
little salt or other sodium. Undaunted, he discovered a way to
continue enjoying the meals he loved and still keep his sodium
level far below what most cardiologists feel they can expect from
their patients.
The idea has led to three published books found on the kitchen
shelves of thousands of grateful families dealing with congestive
heart failure. First came a large general cookbook. It was followed
by a baking book, and then a book of recipes for light meals and
snacks. What could be next?
Before Don's illness, he and his wife, Maureen, traveled a lot.
Don's job took him all over the globe. And wherever they went, they
sought out that country's traditional dishes. When the light-meals
book was finished, Don was looking for yet another low- sodium
cookbook idea. He and Maureen pulled out their collection of
recipes, did their magic of making them very low on sodium, and
voila! A delicious and healthy treat for the entire family.

difference between sugar and high-fructose corn syrup.
Professor Arnold Ehret was a German philosopher, nutritionist,
teacher, healer, and visionary, and one of the first people to
advocate fasting and raw vegan diets as therapies for healing. For
years, his works and teachings have been based on the theory that
health, happiness, and longevity can only be found by living in
complete harmony with the laws of nature.

Journal Becoming healthier is not about a gym routine or new health
club membership; it's about a change of heart and change of
attitude toward all physical activities that can be found in every
day life. The Aerobic House Cleaning Lifestyle is about helping the

A wheat free diet is defined simply as a diet free from wheat or
products made of wheat. This diet is based principally on the fact
that wheat is a primary allergen and that it can cause allergies
like celiac disease which is why the most basic principle of this
diet is the avoidance of wheat in the diet or any products that
contain wheat such as cakes, bread, etc. The wheat free diet is
mostly applied by those who are on a gluten-free diet because wheat
is known as food that contains gluten. Gluten is a component found
in wheat and other grains that is known to cause many disorders
including the celiac disease. This is why all who are on a
gluten-free diet are most likely on a wheat-free diet as well.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
More than two thirds of Americans are overweight, over one third
are obese.43% of Americans are projected to be obese in 10 years
time.Nearly one third of children and adolescents are overweight,
17% are obese.Since 1980, obesity prevalence among children and
adolescents has almost tripled.Between 1988 and 2008 the prevalence
of obesity among adults increased at all income and education
levels. After smoking, obesity is America's leading cause of
premature death and is linked to 70% of heart disease and 80% of
diabetes. In 2008 the medical costs associated with obesity were
estimated to be $147 billion.
In spite of the grim picture that these statistics paint,
obesity is not your destiny and it need not be your end. Whatever
your particular weight challenge may be do not accept it as your
lot in life. If you have attempted to lose weight in the past and
failed, do not be disheartened; it is within you to win victory
over this foe. Get the encouragement and the tools you need to lose
weight - and keep it off- with Living Life Lean.
