Nadia Finley offers a lifestyle program that is practical and
easy to understand. Based on her own life experiences, Finley
developed the "Project Elinor" program for those dealing with
personal hardship, and for any one of us who simply want to lead
healthier, happier lives.
In this book, Finley guides readers through pathways to
emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. By sharing her
moving story about the loss of her mother, Finley provides unique
perspectives to overcome any of life's obstacles, accompanied by a
series of practical exercises to help you through the process. You
will understand how to separate the mind from the body when coping
with negative experiences and learn strategies for gaining control
of the mind when things are at their worst. Essentially, you will
learn how to "live" life - as opposed to being "victim"ized by
it.
In order to refer to the manner of life's difficulties in a
clear and simple way, Finley conceptualizes these hardships as
"Illnesses', "demonstrating how these experiences can negatively
affect your overall well-being. Therefore, in this book, the term
"Illness'" is not necessarily linked to a physical sickness, but
rather it is connected to your personal struggle with any of the
following: the loss of a loved one; loss of a job; loss of
self-esteem or self-identity; the breakdown of a marriage or
relationship; or a drastic change in your financial status. You
determine what your "Illness" is. To put it simply, our "Illnesses"
are our most profound negative life experiences, the kinds of
experiences that each of us must contend with at one point or
another. This book offers the tools needed for optimizing every
experience and opportunity that life will provide, despite the
negative circumstances that any of us fear to face and overcome at
the present time. ""
Cindy Snyder shares her deepest thoughts, feelings and experiences
in this diary/journal in hopes to encourage others and for her to
never forget where her God has brought her. Being warned by her
physicians that her life was at stake, she knew she did not have
the willpower to deliver herself from this bondage. This book is
the personal journal of Cindy's journey out of obesity. You will be
led through this journey as to what life is like for the super
morbidly obese person and is filled with descriptive and explicit
hardships that the super morbid obese must daily live with. Cindy
has tried to be as open and honest as possible and in some
instances very detailed and graphic as to what "life" had become.
Cindy not only shares the battles but also lets everyone experience
the victories with her. Throughout her journey she shares Biblical
teachings, humor and the joy that only God can give during trials
in our lives. Her journal covers everything from menus and recipes,
surgery and exercise, measurements and weights, personal care,
before and after pictures, to her most inner thoughts and feelings.
Her documentations will encourage all that read them, from the most
slender person with their own struggles to the very obese. Through
her journey, faith will be strengthened to believe that with God
all things are possible.
Death Sentence from a Doctor The words seemed to fall from her lips
like they were encased in lead," You only have eight months to
live." At first, I could not believe what I was hearing. It was
like I was having a nightmare, without being asleep. The Doctor
went on, "You will need a liver transplant, and extensive drug
therapy." What? After the initial shock wore down some, I rejected
this option. No I refused to become yet another statistic.
Hepatitis C was doing it's dreaded best to suck the life blood
right out of me, yet I was not going to have it. In our youth, we
all seem to have a way of convincing ourselves that we are bullet
proof, and that things like this "did not happen to us." Yet here I
was, surrounded by Doctors and nurses, all looking at me like I was
but an inscription on a headstone. Things like this have a way of
shaking us to the very core of our foundation. I was shook. One of
the most powerful elements in my total recovery, was my
determination. I would not give up the hope, that somehow I would
look back on this day and think, "the Devil swung at me, and
missed." We all have choices to make in everyday life. I chose to
live and not die young. You too, have the same choice. Humans have
an in-born desire to continue living, even when facing incredible
odds. I used this desire to fuel my determination to beat this.
Learn what I did, and how I did it. The purpose of this book, is to
share with others the exact things I did, and how I did them. Build
a fire within yourself, use that fire to do something positive.
Today my Doctors are amazed to find that I now have the liver of a
twenty-year old
Basically, an essential oil contains aroma compounds found in
plants. They are extracted from plants and are often fragrant or
have distinctive scents that set them apart from artificial oils
and products. Distillation is often the process done in order to
extract oils from plants. Steam is essential in being able to get
the oils out of the plants and in being able to preserve them well.
Throughout history, essential oils have been used for a variety of
reasons, such as for medicinal and aesthetic purposes. Using
essential oils in beauty products is ideal because they come from
plants, which means that they are natural and there are no side
effects to using them. Using essential oils is also a form of
aromatherapy. Plus, being able to create your own beauty products
with the help of different essential oils would be so much fun.
Aside from being able to use the products on your own, you may also
sell them to your friends and colleagues.
"A Handbook of Multivalvular and Prosthetic Valve Disease" contains
a detailed description of the disease. There are no clear cut
guidelines about management of multivalvular disease. However,
author has tried to deal in simple and comprehensible manner.
Special effort has been made to explain the clinical features
(Symptoms and signs) of multivalvular disease and to decide about
dominant lesion in each case. Likewise, the prosthetic valve
evaluation has also been dealt in great details in this book.
Readers will find it very useful as current books lack a detailed
description of prosthetic valves. Prosthetic valve dysfunction, its
assessment and management is again highlight of this handbook. The
treatment section includes description about the various
interventions (catheter based as well as surgical) and it also
includes the ACC / AHA guidelines whereever possible. All in all,
the book promises to be a great reference book for multivalvular
and prosthetic Valve Disease and is worth having it on shelf for
easy reading. Pointwise and concise writing has made this book
specially useful for students and exam going students.

I knew little about Alzheimer's disease, a devastating ailment
afflicting over five million Americans, and I hadn't known anyone
who suffered from it. Then it became personal. My mother was
diagnosed with Alzheimer's. This is a story of our journey together
during the various stages of her illness. In many ways it was not a
pretty time. Yet, through this difficult experience, there were
shafts of light from the One who understands all things and
promises to be with us. It was His light that led me to dig deeper,
furrow beneath His wings, and find His peace and strength in the
storm. Through retelling personal stories, I invite you along on my
journey. By sharing my close up perspective of this disease, you
will enter with me into the eye of the storm, but more importantly,
into the goodness of God. In the midst of the devastation of
Alzheimer's, God met me with encouragement, direction, comfort,
peace, and even joy. You will see that a person doesn't have to be
healed in order for God to be glorified, that He's all about the
journey. I experienced victory in the midst of trial, opportunities
to serve when serving was a test, the ability to trust when
situations were tedious and perplexing, and thankfulness when days
were clouded with a heavy, oppressive fog. Overall, I found hope in
the midst of loss in what became an adventure in God. I took Him at
His word and was not disappointed. All glory to the Father "But
thanks be to God who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and
manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in
every place" (II Cor.2:14).

hours of dialysis. It is an honest expression of hope that you too
will find your donor angel and live a long and healthy life.
