When Joan Caraganis Jakobson's daughter became engaged, she
realized there was so much she wanted to tell her before she left.
But time was running out. Joan started writing out the hard-earned
lessons she had learned over the years. Filled with wonderfully
sassy advice, AND ONE MORE THING...gives daughters information
they'll really use - like what to do when seated next to a boring
person at a dinner party, how to properly arrange flowers, and how
to tell a real designer bag from a fake one. As Joan's daughter
says, Joan may look like a minivan-driving soccer mom with a twin
set and pearls, but this is a woman full of surprises. And so is
the book. Joan tells women: "for God's sake talk about politics and
sex at dinner parties (what else is more entertaining?)" At the end
of the book there are pages for mothers to personalize with their
own advice to their daughters.

This is the story of a young boy and his piano. The young boy is an
autistic child with other problems as well, but has a great ability
and passion for music. As he grows older life deals him many
pleasures and, at the same time, as many problems. Success mingles
with loneliness, while optimism and depression alternate between
periods of mental aberration. The story is told by him as he sees
the world through his eyes, which is different from the way that a
normal person might see it. In following his point of view and by
witnessing his reactions it is hoped that the reader might become
more aware and develop a deeper understanding of people whom we
consider to be mentally abnormal and function on a different level.
What’s normal anyway? Into every life some rain must fall. Nobody
is fine all the time, and if you’re feeling down or struggling
with serious problems, you’re not alone. This clear and
comforting guide is here to help you understand the mental health
issues that can affect us all, and to help you look after your
mind, body and soul. Touching on a range of topics, including
anxiety, depression, loneliness, stress and self-esteem, this is a
book for anyone and everyone who needs good advice, fresh ideas and
kind words.
