particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now
extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. Home Farm Books are
republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality,
modern editions, using the original text and artwork. The research
into surnames and family history is of extraordinary fascination,
for it is a subject in which everyone has a proprietary interest.
It is also part of the history of Medieval times. This book makes
clear, points that would otherwise be doubtful or obscure. Contents

This book was written to start a new conversation about how Dr.
Simeons' protocol has relevance, not only as a hormonal therapy,
but as a means to end our national eating disorder. Instead of
continuing to apply the protocol as a short-term diet, it shoulder
be discussed as a real solution --a tool to end irrational eating
for emotional fulfillment. This country is dealing with a crisis:
an addiction to eating emotionally, and the obvious result is the
overwhelming increase in obesity. Think about the number of people
in our culture who eat without hunger. When you observe our
nation's behavior with food, it's very clear that fat isn't what we
should be obsessed about, and weight shouldn't be the target of the
problem. We need a genuine desire to eat less, one that isn't
dependent on weight loss as a reward. This requires each of us to
be accountable for our own emotions, and find happiness in life not
centrally stimulated by food. "Finally a book that credibly answers
the questions every doctor, patient, and skeptic needs to know
about the hCG protocol." - Dr. Heidi Anderson, Doctor of
Osteopathic Medicine "I've been prescribing hCG for weight loss for
over four years, and nothing I've read comes close to having this
level of expertise. Without question, this is the most informative
and enlightening book about Dr. Simeons' hCG protocol available." -
Dr. Ed Hagen, OB/GYN "Robin's approach to the hCG protocol is
ingenious. Using the protocol as a way to heal the mind and body as
an emotional and physical therapy is exactly what this country
needs." - Becky Crowther, Registered Dietitian, Life Coach
Giving birth to a child is one of the greatest gifts a family can
have, "the gift of life." A Miracle Named David is a book filled
with tears and laughter, as this compassionate grandmother shares
her heart and testimony concerning her special grandchildren. She
shares the births, health problems and triumphs. This book
celebrates the way her faith helped her to deal with the health
challenges that beset the newborns. She informs the readers of the
ins and outs of neonatal intensive care, better known as NICU. A
Miracle Named David is a heart-warming true story of the
unanticipated journey during the mother's pregnancy and premature
delivery of her newborn. During the pregnancy she was given the
odds that her baby had a one percent chance of survival and
everything looked hopeless in the beginning, but the story did not
end there. Dorothy also shares how NICU would be revisited in the
next few years by three other grandbabies. Anyone reading this book
will release doubt and know that miracles really do happen. The
experience gives us a fresh awareness of God's presence and his
healing power. It was through unity in prayer by family, friends
and strangers that changed the circumstances in the lives of all
four newborns. Miracles do happen and this book is truly the story
of "A Miracle Named David."
This is a significant and timely book. The chapters are rich in describing clinical considerations and approaches to the immigrant patient in a broad range of disease areas. Traditional Chinese Qigong for Health is about the healing powers
of an ancient Chinese art of self-healing in the form of
Meditation, Mobile Qigong and Self-Massage with Acupresuure. All
the forms have no links to any religion or philosophy. They are
chiefly a source of health. By writing out each set of exercise
with useful information on healthcare, Chan Siok Fong s book
provides knowledge and facts about the uniqueness of each form of
Qigong practice. It is her hope to bring readers to the point of
knowing and understanding how to use Traditional Chinese Qigong as
their regular form of exercise to maintain health at an acceptable
level to overcome disease and premature aging.
In this comprehensive book, a naturopath explains why allergies
occur and what works—and doesn't—to alleviate them. Millions of
Americans suffer with allergies, yet medicine has yet to determine
exactly what causes a person to be allergic. In this comprehensive
book, naturopath Chris D. Meletis examines a wide-range of
allergies, including those to foodstuffs, dust and other airborne
allergens, and materials like latex and chemicals. He explores
theories of why allergies occur and are rising, including the
"hygiene hypothesis," which argues that overbathing and overuse of
antibiotics and antibacterial agents means our immune systems never
build up the necessary resistance to these substances when we are
young.

This unique work, established on Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet was
debuted and warmly received at an International Conference on
Gibran held in Beirut in April 2006.... Given the state that the
world is in today, the author is of the strong opinion that a
woman's word would be more effective in bringing about a
qualitative change, and even more warmly received by peoples of the
world, and of his native Ireland, than say a man's, especially, if
she were perceived by them to be in every way exceedingly
beautiful. The work Myriam of Lebanon has been his answer.... It
presents a philosopher-poetess called Myriam from the Phoenician
port city of Byblos of the land of Lebanon who visits the isle of
Eire and while there shares of her profound wisdom.... This work is
a bright beacon of hope and strength for our times and beyond; a
beautiful and endearing work born of the green fields of Eire and
the snow-capped mountains of Lebanon.
Shock Therapy For the American Health Care System describes the
problems of the health care system and offers a program of
comprehensive reform that is more far-reaching than anything
currently being proposed. From a veteran physician comes this
remarkably clear-eyed look at what's wrong with how we adminster
and pay for health care and what can be done to fix it. In Shock
Therapy for the American Health Care System: Why Comprehensive
Reform Is Needed, Dr. Robert Levine offers an easily understandable
diagnosis of the problems plaguing our current health care
infrastructure, with discussions that include the roles of various
stakeholders—insurance companies, "big pharma," hospitals, health
care providers, and patients. He also dispels a number of myths
designed to make voters leery of any reform efforts. Levine's
comprehensive plan addresses everything from bloated bureaucracies
to unnecessary procedures to the handling of negligence and
malpractice lawsuits/claims. Throughout, Levine backs his proposals
with facts and comparisons to systems in various countries, and
concludes that even now, with disaster looming, the ultimate goal
of providing health insurance for every American is achievable and
affordable.
