Dieses Buch liefert theoretisch-methodische und deskriptive Grundlagen einer Varianzstilistik des Russischen im Wandel, die sowohl standard- als auch non-standard-sprachliche Phanomene integriert. Im Fokus der Non-Standard-Darstellung stehen dabei diverse Soziolekte, die auf russischem Boden spatestens seit 1917 eine Schlusselrolle in der Etablierung des Non-Standards in Standard-Domanen spielen. Die stilistisch und asthetisch, aber auch ideologisch bedingte Varianz zwischen dem Non-Standard und Standard wird in der vorliegenden Untersuchung im Spannungsfeld von alternativem kunstlerischem Diskurs und offiziellem linguistischem Diskurs empirisch erfasst.

Internationalismen sind in mindestens drei Sprachen formal und inhaltlich ahnliche sprachliche Einheiten. Die Untersuchung vergleicht potentielle Internationalismen in zehn Sprachen im Hinblick auf die AEhnlichkeit (Kongruenz) ihrer Schreibung. Der Vergleich findet dabei nicht nur mit dem deutschen Lexem statt, sondern auch mit den Lexemen der anderen Sprachen untereinander. Die vorgestellten Kriterien zur Bestimmung von Kongruenz erlauben die Berechnung von Kongruenzwerten. So ist es moeglich, graphematische AEhnlichkeiten auf einer Skala anzuordnen und die Lexempaare dadurch prazise vergleichbar zu machen.

This book provides a state-of-the-art survey of intonation and prosodic structure. Taking a phonological perspective, it shows how morpho-syntactic constituents are mapped to prosodic constituents according to well-formedness conditions. Using a tone-sequence model of intonation, it explores individual tones and how they combine, and discusses how information structure affects intonation in several ways, showing tones and melodies to be 'meaningful' in that they add a pragmatic component to what is being said. The author also shows how, despite a superficial similarity, languages differ in how their tonal patterns arise from tone concatenation. Lexical tones, stress, phrase tones, and boundary tones are assigned differently in different languages, resulting in great variation in intonational grammar, both at the lexical and sentential level. The last chapter is dedicated to experimental studies of how we process prosody. The book will be of interest to advanced students and researchers in linguistics, and particularly in phonological theory.

Las formas de tratamiento en el ambito hispanico y lusofono representan uno de los temas mas complejos y, a la vez, mas estudiados. La diversidad de alternativas y usos a ambos lados del Atlantico es bien conocida, aunque la mayoria de estudios se concentra en casos aislados de una ciudad o region muy determinada, o bien muestra un analisis descriptivo de los pronombres de cortesia. Ademas, los especialistas han prestado mas atencion a la casuistica de las variedades americanas y menos a la situacion del espanol y portugues europeos. Este estudio pretende dar cuenta de la evolucion de las formas de tratamiento en la Peninsula Iberica en los ultimos cien anos, con un especial enfasis en el fenomeno de nivelacion que se atestigua en la zona suroccidental. De forma pionera, se expone el comportamiento geolinguistico, sociolinguistico y gramatical de dicha nivelacion, aplicando metodos estadisticos y los programas de cartografia mas actuales. Todo ello, auspiciado por una metodologia innovadora y un corpus cuantitativo que refleja la estrecha relacion que guardan el espanol y el portugues, no solo en la cortesia, sino a nivel linguistico, derivando en un Sprachbund que tiene como foco el suroccidente de la Peninsula Iberica.

The subject of the volume is the presentation of a cognitively oriented model of the generation of prosodic features and constituents and their computer-linguistic implementation in the framework of a language production system. The study develops feature-based representations for prosodic features, constituents, and rules (e.g. focus-accent imaging, tonal planning). Prosodic processes are specified generating prosodic features and structures with relation to semantic, syntactic, lexical, and phonological knowledge and mapping them onto phonetic parameters. Based on psycholinguistic findings, prosodic processes are allocated to different levels of language production.

This book explores the nature of cognitive representations and processes in speech motor control, based primarily on evidence from speech timing. It engages with the key question of whether phonological representations are spatio-temporal, as in the Articulatory Phonology approach, or symbolic (atemporal and non-quantitative); this issue has fundamental implications for the architecture of the speech production planning system, particularly with regard to the number of planning components and the type of timing mechanisms. Alice Turk and Stefanie Shattuck-Hufnagel outline a number of arguments in favour of an alternative to the Articulatory Phonology/Task Dynamics model. They demonstrate that a different framework is needed to account for evidence from speech and non-speech timing behaviour, and specifically that three separate planning components must be posited: Phonological Planning, Phonetic Planning, and Motor-Sensory Implementation. The approach proposed in the book provides a clearer and more comprehensive account of what is known about motor timing in general and speech timing in particular. It will be of interest to phoneticians and phonologists from all theoretical backgrounds as well as to speech clinicians and technologists.

Der Sammelband umfasst (sprach-)wissenschaftliche Beitrage der Romanistik aus den Bereichen Lexikologie und -graphie; Philologie; Semantik, Pragmatik und Grammatik; Etymologie und Entlehnungen. In diesen Themenkomplexen hat sich Jutta Langenbacher-Liebgott durch ihre Forschung und ihr Wirken an der Universitat Paderborn in der internationalen Romanisten-Community fest etabliert. Zudem arbeiten in einer interdisziplinaren Sektion auch Wissenschaftler aus anderen Fachgebieten, wie beispielsweise der Rechtswissenschaft und der Politik, die Verbindung zur Sprache heraus. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Formvariationen an den Pradikativen: Nominativ vs. Instrumental und Kurzform vs. Langform. Sie werden durch ein Modell ikonischer Oppositionen erklart. Der Autor unterscheidet ausserdem zwei Typen von Auxiliaren. Eine wichtige Erkenntnis der syntaktischen Analyse betrifft schliesslich das Verhaltnis von Semantik und Morphosyntax: Flexionsmarker sind nicht in jedem Fall die unmittelbaren Trager grammatischer Bedeutung.

The traditional product-based approach to grammar is given up in favour of a speaker-based, dynamic perspective that integrates language-structural, neurocognitive and dialogic aspects of speech production. Based on fresh empirical research Haselow argues that grammatical knowledge rests upon two cognitive principles of linearization called 'microgrammar' and 'macrogrammar', which are shown to interact in various ways. The book discusses a broad range of speech phenomena under an integrated framework, such as the omnipresence of 'unintegrated' constituents (e.g. discourse markers), ellipses, or the allegedly 'fragmented' character of syntax, and explains the mechanisms of processing efficiency that guide syntactic planning.

Die Kapitel geben einen UEberblick uber aktuelle Themen in der angewandten Grammatikforschung. Sie zeigen den Einsatz und die Rolle von Korpora in der Erforschung grammatischer Konstruktionen auf, sammeln Erkenntnisse uber den Erwerb von grammatischem Wissen in Erst-, Zweit- und Fremdsprache (inklusive sprachdidaktischer Ausblicke) und eroeffnen eine Diskussion zu moeglichen Schnittstellen von Lexik und Grammatik. In diesem Kontext eroertert ein Teil der Beitrage, welche Konsequenzen die in konstruktionsgrammatischen Ansatzen postulierte Aufhebung einer klaren Dichotomie zwischen Lexikon und Grammatik fur die Woerterbuch- und Grammatikschreibung hat, beziehungsweise wie und in welchem Umfang grammatische Informationen in Referenzwerken reprasentiert werden sollten.

"Coop", "Voiello", "Superga" nomi propri? nomi comuni? Come funzionano i nomi commerciali (o marchionimi) nella lingua, quali tratti presentano quando entrano nel discorso? Il volume rappresenta il primo ampio studio sistematico sul funzionamento dei nomi commerciali nell'italiano scritto. Il suo carattere innovativo risiede nell'impostazione sperimentale con cui indaga i marchionimi, scandagliando sintatticamente un vasto "corpus" di dati testuali appositamente elaborato. Prendendo ispirazione ideale dalla lezione di Saussure, i nomi commerciali sono processualmente descritti nei loro valori correlativi: non come entita ontologicamente predefinite, bensi come il risultato di rapporti sintagmatici e paradigmatici da cogliere metodologicamente nell'analisi delle proposizioni in cui tali nomi ricorrono. Ne emerge una visione radicalmente nuova del nome commerciale, scevra da luoghi comuni onomastici o categoriali, e in grado di gettare un fascio di luce, da una prospettiva inconsueta, anche sul problema millenario dei nomi propri.

Ziel dieses Buchs ist es, die Kontextprofile der deutschen Abtoenungspartikeln mithilfe der Konstruktionsgrammatik, Satztyp- und Sprechakttheorie empirisch herauszuarbeiten. Dadurch erstellt die Autorin eine korpusbasierte, konkrete UEbersicht uber die in der Literatur oft als "hoch kompliziert" dargestellten Partikelverwendungen. Zusatzlich erarbeitet sie differenziert die chinesischen Entsprechungen der Abtoenungspartikeln. Dafur wird parallel zur Feststellung der hochfrequenten Konstruktionen eine unidirektional ausgerichtete kontrastive Untersuchung Deutsch-Chinesisch durchgefuhrt. Auf diese Weise erstellt diese Studie die Kontextprofile von zehn deutschen Abtoenungspartikeln und arbeitet ihre chinesischen AEquivalente heraus.

Die Autorin geht der Langackerschen Auffassung der Grammatik als Bedeutung nach. Sie uberpruft empirisch am Beispiel der aquivalenten, deutschen und polnischen Formen der Pronomen, wie sich die schemenhaften Bedeutungen grammatischer Einheiten in individuellen Konzeptualisierungsprozessen konkretisieren und welche Bedeutungsinhalte sie in dem gegebenen sprachlichen Ereignis fokussieren. Die introspektiv-intersubjektive Methode ermoeglicht es, die Verarbeitungsarten der untersuchten Formen der Pronomen aufzudecken, die konzeptuelle Vielfalt der von den ProbandInnen aktivierten Bedeutungsinhalte dieser Formen zu beleuchten, und zu zeigen, dass die Formen der Pronomen prozessual individuell-subjektiv emotionsgepragte Einheiten darstellen.

Die Monographie prasentiert die Ergebnisse der graphematischen Analyse der deutschen UEbersetzung der "Apostelgeschichte" aus dem 14. Jahrhundert. Der Autor analysiert die Ergebnisse insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Ostkolonisation. Die Studie korrespondiert mit den Forschungen zum Mittel- und Fruhneuhochdeutschen und den Kanzleisprachen, in denen die mundartlichen Sprachmerkmale aus dem ostmitteldeutschen Dialektkreis mit der Koexistenz von nieder- und oberdeutschen Elementen schriftlich fixiert wurden. Der Autor untersucht die Sprachmerkmale der sachsischen Kanzlei in ihrer regionalen, fur die Kanzlei des Deutschordensstaates charakteristischen Pragung.
