Jan Hasenpusch beschreibt eine Methodik zur ganzheitlichen Beurteilung der Auswirkung von Parametervariationen auf die Eigenschaften und Merkmale eines Produkts am Beispiel von Karosseriekonzepten. Die Entwicklung wird systematisch unter Berucksichtigung von Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) und Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) durchgefuhrt, um die Komplexitat zu beherrschen und die Vorteile beider Strategien zu nutzen. Grundlage ist eine Erweiterung des Characteristics Properties Modelling. Daraus resultiert eine Methodik, die aus den Prozessschritten Synthese, Analyse und Evaluation besteht. Diese laufen in einem MBSE-Gesamtsystem, bestehend aus wissensbasierten Teilsystemen, ab. Karosseriekonzepte werden aus geforderten Eigenschaften generiert, analysiert und ganzheitlich bewertet. Der Autor Jan Hasenpusch promovierte an der TU Braunschweig. Heute ist er bei einem deutschen Automobilhersteller fur die Weiterentwicklung der virtuellen automatisierten Absicherung von Kundenfunktionen verantwortlich.

UEber alle Phasen der Entwicklung hinweg wird so eine effiziente und richtungssichere Bewertung und Verfolgung der OEkobilanz eines Fahrzeugs ermoeglicht. Weiterhin bereitet der Autor die Ergebnisse der OEkobilanz zielgruppengerecht fur eine Entscheidungsunterstutzung in der Fahrzeugentwicklung auf. Zur Begegnung von Datenlucken in fruhen Phasen der Entwicklung fuhrt er unter anderem eine Prognose von Parameterwerten der Sachbilanz mit Methoden des Data Mining durch.

In this new work, Arthur O. Eger and Huub Ehlhardt present a 'Theory of Product Evolution'. They challenge the popular notion that we owe the availability of products solely to genius inventors. Instead, they present arguments that show that a process of variation, selection, and accumulation of 'know-how' (to make) and 'know-what' (function to realize) provide an explanation for the emergence of new types of products and their subsequent development into families of advanced versions. This theory employs a product evolution diagram as an analytical framework to reconstruct the development history of a product family and picture it as a graphical narrative. Tricky Design responds to the burgeoning of scholarly interest in the cultural meanings of objects, by addressing the moral complexity of certain designed objects and systems. The volume brings together leading international designers, scholars and critics to explore some of the ways in which the practice of design and its outcomes can have a dark side, even when the intention is to design for the public good. Considering a range of designed objects and relationships, including guns, eyewear, assisted suicide kits, anti-rape devices, passports and prisons, the contributors offer a view of design as both progressive and problematic, able to propose new material and human relationships, yet also constrained by social norms and ideology. This contradictory, tricky quality of design is explored in the editors' introduction, which positions the objects, systems, services and 'things' discussed in the book in relation to the idea of the trickster that occurs in anthropological literature, as well as in classical thought, discussing design interventions that have positive and negative ethical consequences. These will include objects, both material and 'immaterial', systems with both local and global scope, and also different processes of designing. Present at major salons and shows - the Pavillon des Arts et du Design, Paris; Design Miami Basel - he has received many public commissions from institutions such as Galeries Lafayette, Swarovski, Vienna, the musee de la chasse et de la nature, Paris, and the Sketch restaurant in London, among others. Vincent says that he feeds himself on the capitals like Paris and New York, which he regularly visits, and digests them in his isolated studio in the Creuse department in France. There, he questions contemporary furniture through the prism of nature and the five elements, like a perfect control of metal. With him, buffet, table and chairs become hallucinatory objects shifting between sculpture and functional furniture. The standard text on innovation advises would-be innovators to conduct creative brainstorming sessions and seek input from outsiders-users or communities. This kind of innovating can be effective at improving products but not at capturing bigger opportunities in the marketplace. In this book Roberto Verganti offers a new approach-one that does not set out to solve existing problems but to find breakthrough meaningful experiences.
