This title offers arty activities for kids, shown step by step. It
features 16 great ideas for creating wonderful paint projects using
everyday materials. It introduces all the basic painting
techniques, including finger painting, flick painting, marbling,
using stencils, blottography, block printing, sponging, and much
more. You can make star and moon gift wrapping, pretty Christmas
crackers, a caterpillar from painted stones, vegetable-print
T-shirts, and a spotty dog-bone picture frame. It comes with clear
step-by-step photographs and fun finished pictures for every
project. Children love to play and experiment with paints of all
types. Petra Boase uses this fascination to lead youngsters through
a teaching course that will show them all the basic skills they
need. Painting is fun, but it does not necessarily mean standing at
an easel creating a picture of what you can see - though you can do
that too if you want! The projects include a marbled pencil pot,
finger-painted flowers, block-printed stationery and a family of
wooden spoon puppets - making this the perfect starter book for
ages 3-7.
Die Publikation moechte zentrale literaturwissenschaftliche
Fragestellungen im Bereich der Literaturdidaktik, der
Mediendidaktik sowie im Hinblick auf den Deutschunterricht
aufzeigen.
literarischer Texte betont. Heutzutage erscheint ihr Einsatz im
Fremdsprachenunterricht als voellig legitim. Die theoretischen
Grundlagen dieser Methodik bedurfen indessen einer Erganzung. In
Children young and old will delight in the artistic splendor of
this illustrated nonfiction tale from the author of "Henri's
Scissors," which "Booklist "called an "exemplary picture-book
biography."
Joseph Cornell loved to draw and paint and collect things. With
these drawings and paintings and collected treasures, he made
marvelous shadowboxes--wonderlands covered in glass. And who did he
most like to share them with? Children, of course. For they noticed
all the details and took in all the magic Mr. Cornell had created.
In this inspiring nonfiction picture book, Jeanette Winter has
painted a moving portrait of a New York artist who always felt his
work was best understood by children.

What happens when over 80 creators from the world's top video game
studios join forces without the constraint of committee design? You
get Substrata, a hypothetical Triple-A title driven by artists, for

You don't have to be an eight-year-old boy to appreciate the plight
of a robot caught in the rain - if, that is, the story is told in
pop-up images by the brilliant Philippe UG. In his latest book, one
of the world's most imaginative paper artists delivers a delightful
glimpse into the inner workings, movement and emotion of a hapless
robot. Once he gets wet, he goes to the doctor and voila! His
creaky gears are fixed and the robot returns to his happy, finely
tuned self. As readers turn the page, each ingeniously constructed
spread explodes with brilliant hues, striking contours, and vivid
personality. Quirky and inspiring, this book shows why pop-up art
appeals to adults and children alike.
For all involved in teaching young children, this timely book offers the necessary tool with which to develop a broad, creative and inspirational visual arts programme. Presented in two parts, this text covers both theoretical and practical angles:
* Part one investigates contemporary early childhood art education, challenging what is traditionally considered an early years art experience * Part two puts theory to text by presenting the reader with numerous inventive visual art lessons that imaginatively meet goals for creative development issued by the QCA
The author strikes the perfect balance between discussion of the subject and provision of hands-on material for use in lessons, which makes this book a complete art education resource for all involved in early years art education. Teachers, trainee teachers, or nursery teachers, who wish to implement a more holistic art curriculum in the classroom whilst meeting all the required standards, will find this an essential companion.
Autoren uber gesellschaftliche Realitat wider. Diese Arbeit
untersucht, welche Vorstellungen von Normalitat und Normativitat
die moderne Kinderliteratur transportiert. Dabei werden vor allem
die Themenbereiche Geschlechtsrollen, Familie sowie Liebe und
Freundschaft in einer quantitativ-qualitativen Analyse untersucht
und ausgewertet. Aufgrund der Ergebnisse dieser Studie wird
anschliessend ein literaturdidaktisches Modell der Werteerziehung
entwickelt und an Beispielen demonstriert.

Leonardo's Science Workshop leads children on an interactive
adventure through key science concepts by following the
multidisciplinary approach of the Renaissance period polymath
Leonardo da Vinci: experimenting, creating projects, and exploring
how art intersects with science and nature. Photos of Leonardo's
own notebooks, paintings, and drawings provide visual inspiration.
More than 500 years ago, Leonardo knew that the fields of science,
technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) are all
connected. The insatiably curious Leonardo examined not just the
outer appearance of his art subjects, but the science that
explained them. He began his studies as a painter, but his
curiosity, diligence, and genius made him also a master sculptor,
architect, designer, scientist, engineer, and inventor. The
Leonardo's Workshop series shares this spirit of multidisciplinary
inquiry with children through accessible, engaging explanations and
hands-on learning. This fascinating book harnesses children's
innate curiosity to explore some of Leonardo's favorite subjects,
including flight, motion, technology design, perspective, and
astronomy. After each topic is explained with concepts from
physics, chemistry, math, and engineering, kids can experience the
principles first-hand with step-by-step STEAM projects. They will
explore: The physics of flight by observing birds and experimenting
with paper airplane designs The science of motion by building a
windup dragonfly Gravitational acceleration with water balloons The
movement of electrons by making cereal "dance" Technology design by
making paper and fabric using recycled material Scientific
perspective by drawing a 3D illusion Insight from other great
thinkers-such as Galileo Galilei, James Clerk Maxwell, and Sir
Isaac Newton-are woven into the lessons throughout. Introduce vital
STEAM skills through visually rich, hands-on learning with
Leonardo's Science Workshop.
