Ernst Hadermann gehoerte als kriegsgefangener Wehrmachtsoffizier zu den fuhrenden Persoenlichkeiten des 1943 in der Sowjetunion gegrundeten Nationalkomitees "Freies Deutschland". Sein Aufruf zur Beendigung des Krieges und zum Sturz des Hitlerregimes im Mai 1942 machte ihn popular. Weniger bekannt wurde der charismatische Padagoge Hadermann, dessen Humanismus Spuren hinterliess. Sie reichen vom Kasseler Wilhelmsgymnasium uber die antifaschistische Aufklarungsarbeit unter deutschen Kriegsgefangenen bis in die Bildungsentwicklung der SBZ und fruhen DDR, an deren ideeller Vorbereitung er massgeblich beteiligt war. Seine Biographie zeigt die Revision traditioneller bildungsburgerlicher Identitat ebenso wie die Gefahrdung seines Bildungsanspruchs unter der Realitat des Kalten Krieges.
